The Borghese family, originating from Siena, Tuscany, rose to prominence in Rome and wielded significant power, especially during the papacy of Paul V (1605-1621), who was a member of the family. However, the true protagonist of this illustrious lineage was Cardinal Scipione Caffarelli Borghese, the beloved nephew of the Pope.
